Rosemary Goodman, age 69 of Collinsville, IL, born March 16, 1949 in St. Louis, MO passed away peacefully at her residence surrounded by family on Sunday, January 6, 2019.

Rosemary was very compassionate and enjoyed working with the elderly, having worked for a couple of nursing homes in the past.  She was involved with the Shrine, had a keen eye for decorating and designing, and liked to scuba dive in her earlier years.  She cherished the time spent with her family and friends and will be missed by all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Richard and Maria Pia ( nee Cardinale) Cathey.

She is survived by her loving husband of 50 years, Michael Goodman, whom she married May 18, 1968; a son, David Michael Goodman of Collinsville, IL; a daughter, Keri Ann (Thomas) Strackeljahn of Waterloo, IL; two grandchildren:  Shelby and Connor Strackeljahn, who were the joy of her life; and four brothers:  Larry, Danny, Ricky and Mark Cathey.

Visitation will be 4pm to 7pm on Friday, January 11, 2019 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be 7pm following the visitation with Kurt Grosse officiating.

Memorials may be made to Shriner's Hospital for Children or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the funeral home.
