Roy Wittmann, age 88 of Collinsville, IL, born November 29, 1924 in Troy, IL passed away at 9:50 pm on Saturday, May 11, 2013 at DePaul Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

He retired as a home builder/developer for over 25 years. Roy was a WWII Navy veteran and served on the USS Nevada. He was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, IL and VFW Post 5691 in Collinsville.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Marion nee Euno Wittmann, whom he had been married to for over 50 years; parents, George and Maude nee Gerstenecker Wittmann; and three brothers: George, Jim, and Robin.

He is survived by his daughter, Kim (Danny) Gatton of Troy, IL; grandson, Ryan Gatton and fiance Katie Lewis of East Alton, IL; two sisters-in-law: Virginia Euno of Edwardsville, IL and Doris Carpenter of California; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm Wednesday, May 15, 2013 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Street, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 7 pm Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. William Engfehr officiating. Military honors by the Navy will be performed.
