Ruth H. Kirchoff, age 90, of Fairview Heights, IL, formerly of Collinsville, IL, born August 29, 1927 in Willoughby, OH, passed away on Tuesday, June 5, 2018 at St. Luke's Hospital in Chesterfield, MO.
Ruth was a Collinsville High School graduate. She then attended Valparaiso University for two years. She began her long, loving marriage of 53 years to Vernon R. Kirchoff on April 24, 1948, and they raised five children together. She was a longtime member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville. She loved golfing and enjoyed playing cards.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Rev. Albert Weber and Eleanora nee Friedrich Weber; her husband, Vernon; two sisters: Phyllis Weber and Rhoda Koenig; a brother, Bert Weber; and son-in-law, Mitch Humphrey.
She is survived by her children: Kathy (Mitch) Humphrey of Chesterfield, MO, Rev. Kurt (Kathy Swearingen) Kirchoff of Haslett, MI, Nancy (Mike) Cluck of Edwardsville, IL, Keith (Patricia) Kirchoff of St. Louis, MO, and Pam (Joe) Garrett of Carmel, IN; 11 grandchildren: Beth (Tyler) Humphrey-Watts, Matt Humphrey (fiance Jane Rozelle), Sophia Kirchoff, Stephanie (Chris) Tubbs, Andrew (Kimberly) Cluck, Julia Cluck, Svetlana Cluck, Leah (Alex) Kursave, Katherine Kirchoff, Grace (Clayton) Whistler, and Chad Garrett; four great grandchildren: Addie Tubbs, Audrey Cluck, Ethan Tubbs and Emersyn Watts; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be from 9am to 11am on Friday, June 8, 2018 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 304 South Street, Collinsville, IL.
Funeral service will be at 11am following the visitation with Rev. Kyle Wright officiating. Burial will be at St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.
Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Make-A-Wish Foundation. They will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home.
