Ruth Shirley Kopp, asleep in Jesus on May 9, 2022 at the age of 76.

Ruth was born June 26, 1945 in St. Louis, MO to the late Walter and Viola (nee Heidbrink) Kopp.  She was a retired teacher having taught in the Ferguson Florissant School District.  She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville and loved animals.

She is survived by a sister, Jean (Curtis) Wiechert of Glen Carbon, IL; a nephew, Jason (Christine) Wiechert of Glen Carbon, IL; a niece, Kristin (David) Solovitz of St. Louis, MO; grand niece and nephews, Drew and Elena Solovitz and Jacob Wiechert.

Visitation will be 3 – 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 15, 2022 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL and 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Monday, May 16, 2022 at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 1300 Beltline Road, Collinsville, IL.

Funeral service will follow at 10:30 a.m. with Rev. Michael Walther officiating.  Burial will be in New Bethlehem Memorial Park Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.  There will be luncheon after the burial at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Ruth's honor to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, Partners for Pet or Best Friends Animal Society and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to the funeral home at 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
