Ruth Ann Taylor, age 73 of Collinsville, IL, born October 25, 1942 in St. Louis, MO passed away at 1:35 am on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville, IL.

Ruth was a retired resource investigator for the State of Missouri. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville. She volunteered weekly at the Collinsville Food Pantry, and received an award for her community work. She enjoyed membership in the Red Hat Society.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James Orville Taylor, whom she married September 2, 1961; her parents, James and Eleanor nee Ulrich Rogers; a brother, Robert Rogers; and a grandson, Eric Taylor.

She is survived by two sons: James (Beth) Taylor of Maryville, IL and Donald (Kelly Boxdorfer) Taylor of Orlando, FL; and two grandchildren: Katie Ogan and Maddie Taylor.

Visitation will be 3pm to 7pm on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10am on Wednesday, February 3, 2016 at the funeral home with Rev. Michael Walther officiating. Burial will be in Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, St. Louis, MO.

Memorials may be made to the Collinsville Food Pantry and will be received at the funeral home.
