Sara Jane Giddings, age 87 of Maryville, IL, born August 12, 1936, in East St. Louis, IL, peacefully passed away on Sunday, November 12, 2023, at her residence surrounded by family.

Sara was a secretary for Collinsville Community Unit School District 10 until her retirement at age 65. She enjoyed needlepoint and quilting, as well as spending time with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Darrell and Elsie (nee Philips) Sharp; a daughter, Linda Biggs; and a brother, Jerry Sharp.

Surviving is her son and his wife, Thomas (Sheila) Dieu of Toney, AL; five grandchildren: Crystal Dour, Carly Biggs, Thomas Jeffrey, Daniel David, and Melissa Hampton; and five great-grandchildren, Chelsi Grace Dour, Ivy Lynn Dour, David Richard Lee Dieu, Austin Declan Dieu, and Liam Cade Dieu.

A visitation will be held on Friday, December 1, 2023, from 1-2pm at Barry Wilson Funeral Home. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2pm, also at the funeral home.
