Obituary

Scott Louis Ledford was born May 30, 1998 to Jeff and Susan Ledford of Maryville, Illinois.  He had a happy childhood playing with his friends, neighbors, sisters, and cousins.  Scott, a 2016 graduate of Collinsville High School, enjoyed playing many sports there: hockey, football, tennis, & golf.  He served as editor of the Kahoki.  A hard-working employee, Scott worked at CBSL, Bobby's, Splash City, Schnucks, and Mike Shannon's. Scott attended SWIC and SIUE.  Unexpectedly, the last 8 years he was plagued with Schizophrenia.  He fought the disease valiantly taking his medicine and trying to be kind to others. Shopping, golfing, fishing, swimming, going to the mall and restaurants, and playing XBOX and the guitar helped him pass his time. Scott will be dearly missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Mel River and Betty (nee Brombolich) River of Collinsville, IL; Frank Isam Ledford of Elizabethtown, KY; and Wanda (nee Atkinson) Weber of Mammoth Cave, KY; his step-grandfather, Lloyd Atkinson of Mammoth Cave, KY; and his uncle, Frank Adrian Ledford of Georgetown, IN.

He is survived by his loving parents, Jeffrey and Susan (nee River) Ledford of Maryville, IL; his sisters, Jessica Thiel (Eli) of Collinsville, and Julianne Rhinehart (Everett) of Collinsville; his nephew, Bradley Thiel; his uncles and aunts: Thomas River of Collinsville, IL; Richard and Kathy River of Clancy, MT; Eric and Mary Ledford of Dry Ridge, KY; and Jackie Ledford of Georgetown, IN; his cousins: Forrest Ledford, Briar Ledford, Eric Ledford, Jake Ledford, Lauren Hurley, and Nick Ledford; and his great-aunt, Judith Brombolich of Sarasota, FL.
