Shirley Mae Weinacht, age 90 of Collinsville, IL, passed away on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at St Elizabeth's Hospital in O'Fallon, IL surrounded by family.

She was born October 23, 1933 to the late Howard and Bessie nee Godier Sipole, the only daughter of three children.  She met the love of her life, Laverne "Vern" George Weinacht at a dance.  A match made in heaven.  They married on November 1, 1954 and had two sons, Kevin and Bryan.

Shirley was a homemaker.  She was very creative and artistic, writing poems, drawing, and painting.  She won several Blue Ribbons over the years for her artwork.  Her love of music and dancing remained with her throughout her life.  She was a loving wife, mother, mother-in-law, grandmother, aunt, and friend to everyone.  Shirley will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Laverne Weinacht, who passed away on March 21, 2020; and two brothers:  Marvin and Dale Sipole.

Surviving are her two sons:  Kevin (Debbie) Weinacht of Glen Carbon, IL and Bryan Weinacht of Collinsville, IL; a grandson, Connor Weinacht of Glen Carbon, IL; numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 10a.m. to 1p.m. on Wednesday December 13, 2023 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will follow at 1p.m. with Rev. Katie Jo Bielke officiant.  Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Glen Carbon.

Memorials may be made in Shirley's honor to St. John United Church of Christ or St. John Community Care and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
