Spencer J. Hager, Jr., age 61 of Maryville, IL, born December 6, 1960, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Saturday, September 24, 2022, at his residence.

Spencer attended St. Louis University Parks College and attained an Associate of Science in Aircraft Maintenance Engineering Technology.  He recently retired from the Boeing Company where he won numerous awards for quality leadership.  Spencer had a thirst for knowledge and enjoyed stock investing, Upland-Metaverse gaming, and playing the trumpet.

He was preceded in death by his father, Spencer J. Hager, Sr.; and a brother, Steven Hager.

Surviving is his beloved mother, Carol Joyce (nee Naves) Hager of Troy, IL; devoted wife, Connie B. (nee Fourcault) Hager, whom he married on March 14, 1995 in Captiva Island, FL; his two children, Spencer J. Hager III and Celeste N. Hager, both of Maryville, IL; two brothers:  Kirk Hager of Highland, IL and Ron (Denise) Hager of Collinsville, IL; sister, Angela Doyle of Ava, MO; two sisters-in-law, Tammy Hager of Troy, IL and Elisa Hager Lawrence of O'Fallon, IL; many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and many other extended family and friends.

Visitation will be 9 a.m. to 12 noon on Friday, September 30, 2022 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 12:30 p.m. at the funeral home.  Burial will be in Lake View Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, IL.
