Stephen Denver Tripp, 80, of Maryville, IL, peacefully passed away on Sunday, June 15, 2025, at his residence surrounded by his loving family.
He was born on October 29, 1944, in East St. Louis, IL. Stephen lived a full and vibrant life dedicated to family, music, and his career.
Stephen graduated from Southern Illinois University with a Bachelor of Arts degree. He enjoyed a distinguished career at Boeing, where he served as a lead instructional designer before retiring. A talented musician, Stephen was a gifted bass player and singer, sharing his passion for music with those around him. Stephen always looked forward to playing at the 501 Blues Club with his friends every Thursday. Everyone looked forward to his humor and the many stories he had to share of a full life lived.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Denver and Irene (nee Bushkill) Tripp; and one sister, Billie Chorney.
Stephen is survived by his beloved wife of 35 years, Anna Marie (nee Farias) Tripp, whom he married on October 19, 1990; six devoted children: Andrea (Adam) Brunkow, Sarah (Norm) Walker, Adam (Tori) Tripp, Gary (Dana) Hoffmann, Tom (Danielle) Hoffmann and Kristin (Adolfo Marquez) Tripp; 12 cherished grandchildren: Eric, Henry, Sidney, Gracie, Rubye, Mitch, Chandler, Chloey, Sierra, Aspen, Hector, and Marcos; three great-grandchildren: Tara, Quinn, and Saige; and his sister, Edith Stone. He held dear Lisa (Ricky) Reid and Kimberlee Hines, and multiple nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family and friends.
A Celebration of life will be held July 12th, 2025 at Fairmont City Community Center 4001 Cookson Rd. Fairmont City IL. 62201 from 1pm-6pm. Memorial contributions are suggested to Partners for Pets and may be sent to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
