Susan Diane nee Rowe Evers, age 63 of Glen Carbon, IL, born January 2, 1954 in Manhattan, KS, passed away on Sunday, November 5, 2017 at her residence.

Susan was a 1972 Collinsville High School graduate. She graduated in May 1976 from the University of Illinois with a Bachelor of Arts degree, making the Dean's list all four years. She was a talented flutist and played in the Fighting Illini marching band. She was a benefit analyst at United Airlines in Chicago and at one time worked for Connecticut General Life Insurance Company. She enjoyed quilting, sewing, and crafts. She was a member of the Southern Handicraft Society of West Palm Beach, FL and won many blue ribbons.

She was preceded in death by her father, Jervis C. Rowe; maternal grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. H. H. Maxwell; and great grandparents, Mr. & Mrs. Claude F. Morrison and Mrs. Hertha Rowe.

She is survived by her mother, Virginia nee Maxwell Rowe; her husband, Kenneth Evers, whom she married May 20, 1978 at St. John United Methodist Church in Edwardsville, IL; a son, Kevin Evers of Thornton, CO; a daughter Emily (Joshua) Whitt of Glen Carbon, IL; two grandchildren: Dreamer and Journey Whitt; two brothers: David Rowe of Boulder, CO and Stephan Rowe of Waxahachie, TX; and a sister, Gloria Rowe of Collinsville, IL.

Memorial visitation will be 11am to 2pm on Saturday, November 11, 2017 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Celebration of Life service will be at 2pm with Rev. Scott Carnes officiating. Burial will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Glen Carbon, IL.

Memorials may be made to Children's Miracle Network Hospitals of Greater St. Louis and will be received at the funeral home.
