Thomas Joseph Calza, age 76 of Collinsville, IL, born June 1, 1948, in East St. Louis, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO.

Tom graduated from Collinsville High School, Class of 1966, where he played baseball for the Kahoks. His talent led him to an athletic scholarship at the University of Illinois pitching for The Fighting Illini until graduating in 1970 with a bachelor's degree. Out of college, Tom worked for Fabick Tractor as a sales promotion manager. He made a career change to carpentry and worked at Keller Construction for many years. His passion for woodworking led him to establish LMC Custom Wood Products with his family. After a final career change, he retired from Fairmont Park Racetrack as a security guard. He loved playing golf, duck hunting, cooking, and letting everyone know how easy Calzas are to get along with.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Jim and Millie (nee Peyla) Calza.

Surviving is his wife of 56 years, Luanne (nee McLanahan) Calza, whom he married on June 20, 1969; a son, Joe (Shannon) Calza of Collinsville, IL; a brother, Tony (Debbie) Calza of Collinsville, IL; a sister, Jeanne Fischer of Maryville, IL; numerous nieces and nephews; his pal Ziva.

Visitation will be 4 to 7 p.m. on Friday, January 10, 2025 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. on Saturday, January 11, 2025 at the funeral home with Josh Kinney officiating. Entombment will be in Sunset Hill Cemetery, Edwardsville, IL.
