Timothy Paul Roethemeier, Sr., age 69 of Troy, IL, passed away on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at his residence surrounded by his loving family.

He was born September 27, 1954 in East St. Louis, IL to the late Norman Henry and Norma Marie (nee Zike) Roethemeier.  He graduated from Collinsville High School in 1972 and married Cathy Moesner on August 16, 1974.

Tim retired from Teamster Local 525 – E-Mix in Troy, IL. He was an avid hunter (goose, duck, turkey, dove and deer) and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren. He was a wonderful husband, father, and grandfather who will be dearly missed.

He is survived by his wife, Cathy Roethemeier; a son, Timothy Jr. (Kristen) Roethemeier of St. Jacob, IL; two daughters:  Tammy Roethemeier Marx of Dale, IN and Monica Roethemeier of Troy, IL; three grandchildren:  Dalton Marx, Riley Severit and Payton Marx; and a sister, Gloria Blumberg of Gilman, IL.

Visitation will be 4 – 7 p.m. on Monday, January 8, 2024 and 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday, January 9, 2024 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, IL.

Funeral service will be at 10:30 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.  Burial will be in St. John Cemetery, Collinsville, IL.

Memorials are suggested to St. Jude Children's Hospital and will be received at the visitation or can be mailed to Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 N. Center Street, Maryville, IL 62062.
