Vicki Joyce Hess, age 70 of Edwardsville, IL born January 30, 1946 in Kennett, MO passed away at 7:26 p.m. on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at her residence.

Vicki was a retired administrative assistant to Congressman Dick Gephardt, and also worked as a jewelry specialist at Macy's. She was an avid golfer, loved gardening, a published poet, painter and novelist. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals, walking on the beach, and had a great sense of humor. She was in love with her family and grandkids.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John J. and G. Gertrude nee McDonald Clubb; her first husband, James T. Watt; and her second husband, Norman Hess.

She is survived by a daughter, Kimberli (Robert) Douty of Maryville; two grandchildren: Matthew and Morgan Douty; a sister at heart, Sandie Nobus of Belleville; aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Memorial visitation will be from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, October 20, 2016 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL.

Memorial service will be at 7pm following the visitation with Rev. Scott Adle officiating.
