Virgil Farenzena, age 84, of Collinsville, IL, was born March 11, 1935 in Collinsville, IL. He passed on February 27, 2020 at Anderson Hospital, Maryville IL.

Virgil was preceded in death by his wife, Joan Elaine (nee Matthews) Farenzena, whom he married on June 12, 1955.  Joan passed on May 20, 2019.  High school sweethearts, they enjoyed 67 years together.  Also preceding him in death are his sister Bertha (Farenzena) Thomas, his brother Vincent Farenzena, along with his parents, Joseph and Mary Farenzena.

Surviving are his daughter, Angela Evers, her husband Todd and two grandchildren, Alexis Evers (Robert Wakeley) and Drake Evers (Alyssa Mercer).  He was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He loved to tell jokes and talk, with anyone and especially about cars.   His kindness and gentle spirit will be missed.

Prior to his death, Virgil executed a Gift of Body to St Louis University.  In accordance with his wishes, there will be no visitation or service.
