Obituary

Virginia Mae Dellamano, age 92, of Collinsville, IL, born May 12, 1928 in Nameoki, IL, passed away on November 3, 2020 at Caseyville Nursing & Rehabilitation in Caseyville, IL.

She was a homemaker and a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville, where she was a Sunday School teacher and a member of the Middle Aislers Club and many other organizations within the church. She played basketball with the Olympic Co-Eds with Helen Stephens and also loved to bowl. She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family.

Virginia was preceded in death by her parents, Ogle and Elena Earl (Rains) Durham; an infant brother, Norman; a brother, Dean Durham; and a sister, Ellen Zerkel.

She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Dellamano, whom she married October 18, 1952; two sons: James Dellamano of Maryville, IL and Thomas (Pamela) Dellamano of Collinsville, IL; a daughter, Nancy (Dale) Brakenhoff of Litchfield, IL; 11 grandchildren: Erica (James) Chilvers, Andrew (Krissy) Dellamano, Austin Dellamano, Anna Dellamano, Bryce Dellamano, Brianne Dellamano, Thomas (Rachael) Dellamano, Nicholas (AJ) Dellamano, Devin (McKenzie) Brakenhoff, Jennifer Brakenhoff, and Hope  Brakenhoff; and 8 great-grandchildren: Aurora, Charlie, Gavin, Mia, Liam, Joe, Embry, and Sadie.

Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. on Saturday, November 7, 2020 at Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Collinsville.  Masks are required to be worn and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m., following the visitation, at Holy Cross Lutheran Church with Rev. Burial will be in Holy Cross Lutheran Cemetery in Collinsville.

Memorials may be made to Holy Cross Lutheran Church or Hospice of Southern Illinois and will be accepted at the visitation or may be mailed to the Funeral Home.
