Virginia Diane Rowe, age 85, of Collinsville, IL, born July 25, 1932 in Kansas City KS, passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018 at University Manor Nursing & Rehab in Edwardsville, IL.

Virginia attained a bachelor's degree in Home Economics and a minor in Science and retired after 36 years as a Home Economics teacher for Collinsville Unit 10 School District. She was a member of the Collinsville United Methodist Church and Pricilla's Circle. She loved to read and visited the library often, enjoyed playing cards with her retired school teacher friends, going to movies, and especially enjoyed being with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Herold Hollis and Bernice nee Morrison Maxwell; a daughter, SusanEvers; two nephews, Paul LeSage and John Pihl; a niece, Beth Maxwell; and her former husband, Jervis Chester Rowe.

She is survived by a daughter, Gloria Rowe of Collinsville, IL; a son, David Rowe of Boulder, CO; a son-in-law, Kenneth Evers of Glen Carbon, IL; four grandchildren, Emily (Josh) Whitt, Kevin Evers, Olivia (Dave) Flerra, and Alex Rowe; five great grandchildren, Dreamer, Journey, Dylan, Jax, and Bella; two brothers, Hollis (Roberta) Maxwell of Topeka, KS, Dick (Terry) Maxwell of Shawnee, KS; two sisters, Gloria LeSage of Portland, OR, and Joanne Pihl of Salina, KS; nine nieces and nephews.

Memorial visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 28, 2018 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, followed by a memorial service at 2 p.m. with Rev. Scott Carnes officiating.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the Children's Miracle Network Hospitals of Greater St. Louis and will be received at the funeral home.
