Wanda J. Hildebrandt, age 85 of Edwardsville, IL, born August 14, 1929 in Podhajce, Poland, passed away at 2:40 pm on Monday, July 6, 2015 at Granite Nursing & Rehab in Granite City, IL.

Wanda enjoyed reading books, attending to her rose garden, birds, and cooking for the family.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John J. Hildebrandt, whom she married April 22, 1947; her parents, Peter and Helen nee Novosad Blicharski; a son, Roman G. Hildebrandt; and two brothers: Anton and Albert Blicharski.

She is survived by a son, John (Debbie) Hildebrandt of Pontoon Beach, IL; two daughters: Helen (Richard) Carter of Jeffersonville, IN and Mary (Gary) Allison of Maryville, IL; six grandchildren: Steven (Beth) Carter of Charlestown, IN, Frank (Marcy) Carter of Lebanon, TN, Timothy Allison of St. Louis, MO, Matthew Allison of Belleville, IL, Joshua Hildebrandt and Lindsey Hildebrandt of Ohio, six great grandchildren: Courtney, Caroline, Wyatt, and John Carter, Ava and Zoe Hildebrandt.

Memorial visitation will be from 3pm to 5pm on Monday, July 13, 2015 at Barry Wilson Funeral Home, 2800 North Center Street, Maryville, IL.

Memorial service will be at 5pm on Monday at the funeral home. Private burial will be held at a later date.

Memorials may be made to BJC Hospice of Alton, IL or Wounded Warrior Project, and will be received at the funeral home.
