Wanda Ann Whitwell, age 72 of Maryville, IL passed away on Saturday, June 8, 2024 at Anderson Hospital in Maryville.

She was born June 22, 1951 in Maryville to the late Edward and Victoria (nee Cummings) Massander.  She married John Wayne Whitwell on November 7, 1981 and he survives.

Wanda was a retired probation officer for Madison County after 35 years of service.  She was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and loved NASCAR driver Jimmy Johnson.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers:  Danny and William Massander; and a sister, Mary Picchioldi.

Surviving is her beloved husband, John Wayne Whitwell; a son, Jonathan "Jonny" Whitwell; and three grandchildren:  Jonathan, Michael and Christopher; numerous nieces and nephews.

Wanda's wishes were to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 22, 2024 at 1 p.m.at the American Legion in Collinsville, 1022 Vandalia Street.
