Barry Wilson
Funeral Director/Owner
Barry is a lifelong resident of the Collinsville and Maryville, Illinois area, and the son of Conley and LaVerne (nee Finn) Wilson of Collinsville. He is a 1980 graduate of Collinsville High School and attended both North Junior High and Maryville West Elementary schools. He was a first baseman and pitcher of the 1980 Collinsville Kahok Baseball State Championship team, and also played basketball for the Collinsville Kahoks in 1978, 1979, and 1980. He graduated in 1983 from Southern Illinois University-Carbondale with an associate degree in Mortuary Science. Barry has over 40 years of experience in the Collinsville, Maryville area as a funeral director and embalmer. He has Funeral Director and Embalmer licenses in both Illinois and Missouri, is a licensed Life Insurance Producer in Illinois, and holds a crematory operator's certificate, which he attained in 2005. Mr. Wilson has been a Reserve Madison County Deputy Coroner since 1990.

Barry has been married for 41 years to his wife, Janice, who is also a lifelong resident of Collinsville. Janice taught yoga at the CMT - YMCA for many years. They have two daughters – Chelsea Jackson, who graduated from Saint Louis University with honors and is a physician’s assistant, and Abbey McDonough, a graduate of Saint Louis University School of Law. Chelsea and Abbey both graduated from Collinsville High School with honors. Barry is a proud grandparent of six grandchildren: Tinsley Alane, Ayla Jane, Georgia Ann, and Raleigh Louise Jackson, Breck Henry and Rainey Mae McDonough. His hobbies include golf, spending time with his family, and being with friends.

Janice Wilson
Owner/Human Resources (HR) Director
Janice is a lifelong resident of Collinsville (and Maryville) and the daughter of the late Robert and Marilyn (nee Nicol) Marks. Janice is a life-long member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville. She attended parochial school at Holy Cross Lutheran in Collinsville, then went on to graduate Summa Cum Laude at Collinsville High School. While attending Collinsville High School, she was a Kahok cheerleader, being the team Captain her senior year and placing first in state. She attended and received a bachelor's degree in business administration from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. She married Barry Wilson in September of 1984. She is a retired preschool teacher, having worked 20 years at St. John Learning Tree Pre-School in Collinsville. While there, she was head of the three-year-old program for her last thirteen years, having made relationships with young families in the Collinsville, Maryville and Caseyville areas and surrounding communities. She is a certified Yoga instructor and taught yoga at the CMT YMCA for many years. She is a proud mother of two girls, Chelsea Jackson and Abbey McDonough, proud grandmother of six grandchildren, Tinsley Alane, Ayla Jane, Georgia Ann, and Raleigh Louise Jackson, Breck Henry and Rainey Mae McDonough. Her hobbies include cooking, decorating and spending time with family and friends.

Chelsea Jackson, PA-C
Family
Chelsea is the daughter of Barry and Janice and is a life-long resident of Collinsville and Maryville. She attended school at Good Shepherd Lutheran in Collinsville where she graduated Valedictorian of her class. She went on to attend Collinsville High School where she graduated Summa Cum Laude. She was a Kahok volleyball player all four years, a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, Executive Board, and an Illinois State Scholar. She attended her first two years of college at the University of Georgia. After deciding to transfer to Saint Louis University, she was awarded the Jesuit Transfer Scholarship. At SLU, she was a member of the Saint Louis University Dietetic Association. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from SLU in May of 2011 with a Bachelor of Science in Nutrition and Dietetics. She graduated from SLU in December of 2014 with a Master of Medical Sciences, Physician Assistant and is nationally certified and licensed. In February of 2015, Chelsea married Justin Jackson, formerly of DuQuoin, IL. They have four daughters, Tinsley Alane, Ayla Jane, Georgia Ann, and Raleigh Louise and currently reside in Maryville, IL. Chelsea is a life-long member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville, and she enjoys spending time with family and friends.

Abbey McDonough, Esq.
Family
Abbey is a lifelong resident of Collinsville and Maryville. She attended parochial school at Good Shepherd Lutheran in Collinsville, finished her eighth-grade year at Collinsville Middle School, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from Collinsville High School. Abbey has enjoyed athletics, being a member of the Lady Hawks Basketball Team, and also played basketball her freshman year of high school. She has been an avid soccer player since she was five, spending seven years with the Lou Fusz Soccer Club before moving on to St. Louis Scott Gallagher Club her final two years. She was a four-year varsity player and three-year starter for the Lady Kahoks Soccer Team. She was a member of the National Honor Society, Student Council, and an Illinois State Scholar. Upon graduating from Collinsville High School, she attained her bachelor's degree in criminal justice from Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Thereafter, she attended Saint Louis University School of Law on scholarship and graduated in May of 2018. She passed the Missouri Bar Examination in July of 2018 and was sworn in by the Supreme Court of Missouri in September of 2018; she was also sworn in by the State of Illinois in January of 2019 and holds licenses in Illinois, Missouri, and Texas. She married Brian McDonough, formerly of Chester, IL, in November 2019, and had their first child, Breck Henry McDonough, in July of 2022 and their second child, Rainey Mae, in September of 2024. Her hobbies include fitness, playing the piano, reading, and spending time with her nieces, Tinsley Alane, Ayla Jane, Georgia Ann, and Raleigh Louise.

Shane Smith
Funeral Director
Shane was raised in Collinsville, IL, where he attended Lincoln Grade School, North Junior High, and graduated from Collinsville High School in 1994. Shane worked in the banking industry before attending St. Louis Community College – Forrest Park, graduating with an associate degree in Mortuary Science in 2012. He is enrolled in Southern Illinois University- Carbondale, completing his bachelor's in Mortuary Science and Funeral Service. He began his career working for two family-owned funeral homes in St. Louis, MO, from July 2012 until February 2024, where he held the position of funeral director, embalmer, and general manager of two funeral homes. Shane and his partner, Susie, live in St. Louis, MO. They are returning to Illinois to be closer to their family and friends. He feels honored to join Barry Wilson Funeral Home and serve the community where he grew up. Shane enjoys camping, hiking with Susie and their dog Yahtzee, occasional golf scramble, listening to live music, and watching NY Islanders hockey.

Ryan Zinke
Funeral Director
Ryan is a 1994 graduate of Vincennes University in Indiana and began his career in his hometown of Robinson, IL, where he served his apprenticeship.
After obtaining his Illinois Funeral Director and Embalmer's license, Ryan moved to Greeley, CO in 1996 to further learn and grow in the funeral profession. In October of 1998, an opportunity arose to relocate back to Illinois and continue his career in Collinsville, where this has since been home.
Ryan is married to Amanda Zinke. They have two children, Colleen and Chase Zinke. In their free time, Ryan and Amanda enjoy time with family and friends and traveling.

Jeanine Zamarione
Executive Assistant
Jeanine has been a resident of the Collinsville/Maryville area for many years. She was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. In 1993, she married her husband, Eric, who was a 1979 graduate of Collinsville High School. Eric is an engineer for Boeing in St. Louis, Missouri. They have two children together – Lauren and Dominic. Jeanine joined the Barry Wilson Funeral Home Staff from its inception. She works full-time for the funeral home, and also has a home based transcription business. Jeanine retired from the Learning Tree Preschool in Collinsville, IL in 2012 after 10 years of service. Prior to teaching, she was an executive assistant for Great American Insurance Company in Creve Coeur, MO. She enjoys decorating, planting flower arrangements, listening to live music, and spending time with family and friends. The Zamarione’s are members of St. Cecilia Catholic Church in Glen Carbon.

Sue Blumberg
Secretary
Sue is a lifelong resident of the Collinsville/Maryville area. She attended Maryville Grade School, is a graduate of Collinsville High School, has an Associate Degree in Secretarial Science from SWIC, and earned the Certified Professional Secretary (CPS) designation through the National Institute for Certifying Secretaries. She was formerly employed as Administrative Manager of the Southwestern Illinois Planning Commission (19 years) and Secretary/Office Manager at St. John United Church of Christ in Collinsville (25 years). Sue and her husband, Ken, are enjoying semi-retirement and having more time for hobbies/interests, spending time with family and friends, and traveling--especially to visit their son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren in Georgia!

Kevin Flaugher
Funeral Assistant
Kevin is a life-long resident of Maryville. He attended Maryville Elementary, North Junior High, and Collinsville High Schools before going on to attend Southern Illinois University at Edwardsville. Kevin retired in October 2021 from the Village of Maryville after serving 37 years with the Maryville Fire Department 26 of those as Fire Chief and as Building and Zoning Administrator for 25 years. He is currently a reserve deputy coroner for Madison County. Kevin and his wife Karen reside in Maryville with their dog Cooper. Karen grew up in Troy and graduated from Triad High School. Karen is employed by BCD Travel as a project manager. They have two sons, Brian and Bradley Hunziker. Brian and his wife, Jacki, along with their children, Ruby & Benton, reside in Collinsville. Brad and his partner Nick Giacoletto reside in Maryville along with their dogs Lexi and Luke. Kevin enjoys watching sports, especially the Cardinals, traveling with Karen, and spending time with their grandkids, Cooper, granddogs, family and friends.

Bill Yanousek
Funeral Assistant
Bill Yanousek was welcomed to the staff in 2018 upon his retirement after 45 years (32 years as Superintendent) at St. John's Cemetery in Collinsville. He is a CHS graduate and a member of St. John United Church of Christ. Bill and his wife, Lori, recently moved to Troy, and they have two lovely daughters, Erin, who lives in California, and Kerry, who lives in St. Louis, and they will soon be adding two sons-in-law to their family.

Ron Frey
Funeral Assistant
Ron grew up in the Highland area, is now a resident of Glen Carbon, and is a life-long resident of the local Illinois area. He is a graduate of Highland High School and went on to attend college at Southern Illinois University Carbondale. He first received an Associate’s Degree in Electronics and then continued on to receive a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering. He retired from an engineering firm in St Louis as a manager. Ron is married to his wife, Joan, who is also a life-long resident of the Glen Carbon area. Joan was the former owner and proprietor of Miss Bailey’s Poppy Patch home interior/specialty gift store, which was located at Miner’s Square in Glen Carbon. They have two children – Kara who graduated from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville and Zach who graduated from University of Illinois. Ron enjoys all sports and being with family and friends.

Marty Hoffman
Funeral Assistant
Marty grew up in Granite City and now lives in Collinsville. He is a graduate of Granite City South High School. He is currently employed by Good Shepherd Lutheran Church as Parish Administrator. Marty is married to his wife, Pam, who is a lifelong resident of Collinsville. Pam is employed by Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon. They have 3 children: Christian, Simon, and Emily. The Hoffmans are members of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Collinsville. Marty enjoys spending time with family and friends.
